Andrea Eaton, CFP® Financial Planner

Andrea Eaton is a Financial Planner at Cornerstone Wealth Advisors, Inc. She began her career as a Graduate Intern in 2004 and has been at the firm full-time since 2005. In her current position, she is committed to providing superior service and advice to the clients of Cornerstone Wealth Advisors, Inc. by using her knowledge of financial planning. Andrea enjoys getting to know the clients of Cornerstone personally and can often tell who is calling the office by his/her voice.
Mrs. Eaton graduated from South Dakota State University where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Studies. Wanting to combine her quantitative ability with the desire to help people, she was drawn to financial planning. She attended and graduated from Texas Tech University with a Master’s degree in Financial Planning. In the Summer of 2007, Mrs. Eaton fulfilled all the requirements needed to become a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), including the two-day CFP Comprehensive Exam.
Andrea Eaton is a member of the Financial Planning Association, which keeps her up-to-date in the different facets of financial planning and also provides networking opportunities. Andrea has been a part of a “Young Planners” local study group since 2005. Mrs. Eaton is also involved with financial planning pro-bono activities for low income individuals through AccountAbility Minnesota and the Financial Planning Association of Minnesota.
Andrea grew up in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where her parents still live. She moved to the Twin Cities in January 2005 and married Michael Eaton shortly after. Michael and Andrea currently live in Bloomington with their two feline friends, Phoebe and Chester. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, exploring Minnesota and other places near and far, working out and spending time with friends and family.

Michael A. Branham, CFP® Financial Planner

Michael A. Branham, CFP® is a Financial Planner at Cornerstone Wealth Advisors, Inc. He interacts with clients daily on their retirement planning, income tax, cash flow and estate planning needs and also plays an integral role in implementing the firm’s investment portfolio strategies. Along with his work for clients, Mr. Branham’s responsibilities at Cornerstone Wealth Advisors include a variety of operational and management duties.
Mr. Branham attended the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. He began his career as a Financial Advisor at Waddell & Reed before leaving to become a Financial Planning Associate and then Senior Financial Planning Associate at Cornerstone Wealth Advisors, Inc. He earned his Certified Financial Planner™ certification (CFP®) in April 2004, at which time he was promoted to his current position of Financial Planner.
In addition to his duties at Cornerstone, Mr. Branham is active with the Minnesota chapter of the Financial Planning Association (FPA). He currently sits on the MN FPA Board of Directors as Director of Career Development. Prior to joining the Board he served on the Ethics and Government Relations committee from 2001-2005. He also attended the FPA Residency Program, an intensive, one-week financial planning mentorship program, in Lake Arrowhead, CA in October 2004.
Mr. Branham was born and raised in the Twin Cities area. He currently lives in Burnsville with his wife, Julie, and his 3 children: Tyler, Alea, and Zachary. When not working he enjoys time in his children’s school as a volunteer for Junior Achievement, as well as spending time in the wilds of northern Minnesota and at local rinks watching his kids play hockey.

Jonathan T. Guyton, CFP® Principal

Jonathan T. Guyton, CFP® is Principal of Cornerstone Wealth Advisors, Inc., a holistic financial planning and wealth management firm in Minneapolis. His specialties include retirement income planning and investment management with an emphasis on asset distribution and income tax planning. In addition, clients have referred to him as a “money and relationship therapist” for his abilities to help them become more at ease with themselves around money and their relationship to it.
Jon is a thought leader in financial planning. He is best known as the author of “Decision Rules and Portfolio Management for Retirees: Is the ‘Safe’ Initial Withdrawal Rate Too Safe?”, published in the October 2004 Journal of Financial Planning and a winner of its Call For Papers competition. He also co-authored “Decision Rules and Maximum Initial Withdrawal Rates” with computer scientist William Klinger in its March 2006 issue. Jon was named a 2007 “Mover and Shaker” by his peers in Financial Planning magazine. His comments on these and other topics appear in the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Money, USA Today, Forbes, Business Week, Research, Bloomberg's Wealth Manager and Kiplinger’s Personal Finance.
Jon is also a mentor and teacher to his professional peers around the country where his work regularly influences how they practice. He has been honored to make numerous presentations to literally thousands of colleagues based on his writings and work with clients. More recently, Cornerstone Wealth Advisors has been recognized for its unique approach to providing career paths to emerging CFP® professionals in the financial planning profession.
Graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the College of William and Mary in Virginia in 1983 with a B.A. in Economics, Jon began his career as a Bank Branch Manager and spent five years as a financial planner and national training officer for Ameriprise Financial (then IDS) before creating his own firm in 1990.
Jon earned his Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation in 1989. Some of his professional accomplishments include:

Jon has lived in the Twin Cities since 1987 and is an Eagle Scout. His hobbies include conversation, reading, choral singing, baseball and running – nearly all of which he enjoys best with great food.
